DESCRIPTION:On July 10th\, the Guild team gathered to fill backpacks for 25 San Diego-based student at their corporate office with supplies donated from Guild employees. \nOn August 6th\, Guild volunteers gathered once again to help pack hygiene kits to be distributed to various community partners across San Diego county to help the region’s homeless families with children.\nCheck back often for more opportunities to support Home Start San Diego.\n\nHome Start strengthens families and protects children by addressing the conditions that can contribute to risky or abusive situations such as poverty\, unsafe neighborhoods\, lack of affordable housing and unemployment.

SUMMARY:San Diego Pride Volunteer Day
DESCRIPTION:Guild Giving and PRISM co-hosted and led a large group of Guild Mortgage employees at the San Diego Pride Volunteer Day in sunny San Diego. This amazing crew helped put together trash and recycling boxes and placed them throughout the entire event area; checked and secured emergency exits; and helped set up the kids area tents\, tables\, chairs\, and activity stations!\n\nSan Diego Pride raises funds primarily through festival ticket and beverage sales\, corporate and private sponsorships\, and exhibitor fees. These funds support San Diego Pride’s community philanthropy which has distributed more than $2.5 million in advancement of its mission to foster pride\, equality\, and respect for all lesbian\, gay\, bisexual\, and transgender communities locally\, nationally\, and globally.\n\nThank you to everyone who made this event a success!

With our combined donations\, people in San Diego and beyond—from first-time homeowners and veterans to at-risk families and senior citizens—will benefit from greater housing resources and programs.\n\nMyPath2Own combines homebuyer education and financial assistance to prepare potential homebuyers who otherwise would not immediately qualify for a mortgage loan to become homeowners.\nGuided by their mission to assure the safety and resilience of children\, Home Start is dedicated to strengthening families by addressing the root causes of family instability—poverty\, unsafe neighborhoods\, lack of affordable housing and unemployment—while concurrently addressing individual self-sufficiency and emotional needs.\nIn collaboration with Serving Seniors and the San Diego Housing Commission\, Seniors Safe At Home combats homelessness among the senior population by providing rental subsidies\, case management and job navigation to help secure steady income.\nStarted in 2004\, Homes For Our Troops builds and donates specially adapted\, custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 veterans\, to enable them to rebuild their lives.
